Service Tip of the Month

Dexter Large Washers not accepting coins

If your Dexter Washer will not accept and count coins, could be one of the following 

1.Coin Acceptor - Check coin acceptor switch for any type of blockage or damage. Clean, adjust or replace the acceptor. 
 
2.Power Supply - Check these areas: Circuit breakers, Voltage,Power leads, Power connection.
 
3.Door Closed Safety Switch - Check door closed switch at door hinge for proper operation. 
 
4.Door Handle Closed Switch - Check single door closed switch at left side of door handle to close when handle is vertical. 
 
5.Control Breaker or fuse - Check breaker or fuse for continuity. If no continuity, replace breaker or fuse. The T-300 through T-950 use the 1.5 amp fuse. The T-1200 and t-1450 uses A 2.5 amp fuse. 
 
6.Main PCB - Replace

Front Load Washer operation reminder

After Each Use:

Unload the machine promptly after each completed cycle to prevent moisture buildup. Leave loading door and dispenser lid open at the end of each completed cycle to allow moisture to evaporate
 
At the End of Each Day:
 
Leave the loading door open at the end of each day to allow moisture to evaporate.

Dexter Stacked Dryer - Coin Mech Cleaning

Coin Switch/Harness. 

• Remove coin acceptor from machine. 
• Check coin switch for proper operation when coin is dropped. 
• If switch fails to activate replace coin switch. 
• Check harness for proper connections and damaged wires. 
• Slide top clip off the acceptor to access the interior of the coin drop. 
• Clean all buildup and debris from coin slide with a wet cloth. Replace the clip in reverse order. 

Huebsch Front Load Washers

  • Leave the loading door open during extended periods of non-use to allow the wash drum to dry out and avoid a musty smell.
  • Check the filter screens in the fill hoses for debris or damage annually. Clean or replace them if necessary.
  • Check all hoses on a monthly basis for any visible signs of deterioration such as cracks, blisters or material wear. Replace immediately any hoses showing these signs.

Dexter Changing or Cleaning the Coin Acceptor

Remove the slide from the top of the acceptor. This gives access to coin chute. Using water and a wash cloth clean all lint and debris from chute assembly. Make sure the acceptor is free of dirt and debris. Clean optical eye with Q-tip (optical acceptors only). Check the micro switch for activation when coin is dropped. Replace micro switch if no activation

  • Leave the washer's lid open to allow the inside to dry out after use and avoid musty smells.
  • Check the filter screens in the fill hoses for debris or damage annually. Clean or replace them if necessary.

Subject Resolving Door Leaks
This bulletin applies to frontload washer models with serial numbers beginning 1501.
There are several factors that can cause a frontload washer door leak:
 
1. An article of clothing was caught between the glass and inner rubber door seal. Remove
article.
 
2. The rubber door seal has a hole or tear on the sealing lip. Replace door seal.
 
3. The unit has sustained shipping damage where the front panel has been slightly pushed in.
Replace front panel. Check Door Seal for holes or tears
 
4. The door glass needs to be adjusted.
Remove outer door bezel, loosen door clips and slide door glass toward
hinge side.
 
5. Door hinge needs to be repositioned.
Loosen hinge to front panel screws and slide assembly to right as facing
the washer.
 
6. The inner door bezel is warped.
Replace inner bezel.
 
7. Check to ensure the door seal wire clamp ring and spring are in place.
Replace if missing.
